Top Five EASIEST Black Diamonds at Brighton

Brighton, in my opinion, has some of the best expert terrain in Utah. However, some intermediate skiers who are tired of the blues may have trouble finding a run that is right for them. Here are some of my personal favorite easy black diamonds.

  1. Wren Hollow, Crest

Wren hollow is a phenomenal choice for those who are not pros at skiing. It isn’t very steep, and the moguls aren’t too tall. It is kind of secluded from the main groomers and gives an impression of back country. All in all, it is a fun run that is probably the easiest Brighton has to offer.

  1. Rock and Roll, Great Western.

This run is very versatile in being a great warm up for experts, and a great apex for intermediates. It isn’t very steep, and if you are good enough, the trees on the sides are awesome. Overall, it can be done very easily if you can traverse back and forth.

  1. Lower Pioneer, Snake Creek

Lower pioneer differs from the others on this list in being the only one you can “opt out of”. The beginning is exactly like a blue square, and the end is a quality run. It is never very icy, and is very fun on a powder day. If you look down and say “this is too steep”, you can escape to sunshine on the right.

  1. Face, Majestic

Although this run is on the steeper side, it is easily accessed and is not long at all. Face technically doesn’t have a sign pointing to it, it is on the map and therefore I am including it. Basically just turn right off the lift and you’re there. An easy warm up, especially on a powder day.

  1. Desperado, Great Western

Like Rock and Roll, this run can be used as both a warm up and a pinnacle. It is very similar in terrain, although longer and a little steeper. You have a clear view of it on the lift, so you can gouge how you feel about it. It is a quality run and I enjoy the powder at the bottom.
